The Houston Museum
of Natural Science
Located in the beautiful Hermann Memorial Park area, the HMNS has 16 permanent exhibitions. The museum is also home to the Burke Baker Planetarium, the Cockrell Butterfly Center and the Wortham Giant Screen Theatre. The updated Morian Hall of Paleontology offers a gorgeous and educational view of prehistoric life. Other exhibits include astronomy, space science, Native American culture, energy, chemistry, gems and minerals, seashells, Texas wildlife and much more. Over half a million school children visit the HMNS annually.
The Houston Zoo
The Houston Zoo inspires millions of visitors each year who come to visit an incredible variety of animals and ecosystems. With over 6,000 animal residents, the Houston Zoo is committed to providing engaging animal experiences and assuring outstanding animal welfare for all of its’ residents.
